Privacy Policy
Your dog's journal stays on your phone. There is no account requirement for the journal, and no cloud sync or backup.

Who we are

What stays only on your device
These are stored on your phone and are not sent to us:
- Your dogs and their care records
- Health records, tasks and training progress
- Expenses, photos and receipts
- Drafts and your settings
Your BarkLog AI conversation history is also saved on your phone. If you use BarkLog AI, what you send it reaches our AI server, as described below.
Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes all of this, and we cannot recover it. To keep a copy, export a PDF or CSV before you delete anything. Exports are part of Premium.
What can leave your device
Data leaves your phone only after a deliberate choice by you.

What is never sent
- Photos to AI
- Your contacts
- Other dogs' data when you ask about one dog
- Your journal, because there is no journal sync
- Care content in analytics
BarkLog has no ads. We do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other apps.
Permissions
Nothing is requested when the app starts. Each permission is asked for only when you use the feature that needs it, and saying no never stops you saving a record.
- Notifications: when you turn on a reminder.
- Camera: when you take a photo in the app.
- Approximate location: when you ask to use your area to find a vet.
Photos use your phone's system picker, so the app only gets the photos you choose.
BarkLog AI has limits
AI answers can be wrong. BarkLog AI gives general care information. It does not diagnose or prescribe. If you are worried about your dog, contact a vet.
Keeping and deleting data
Your journal is never on our servers, so there is nothing for us to keep or delete. Deleting the app deletes it.
If you use BarkLog AI, our AI server keeps your questions, answers, saved memories, usage counts and logs until you ask us to erase them. Deleting your account in the app does not erase them, so email us to do that.

Children
BarkLog is for adult dog owners. It is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page. If BarkLog AI ever needs to share more than it does today, the app asks for your consent again.
